On-demand Computing for Databases

Abstract of Talk.

This presentation narrows in on data management issues in on-demand technologies, such as a service-oriented architecture, autonomic computing, access to information anywhere. Businesses demand dramatic improvements in time for them to react to business initiatives, impeded by the complexity of technology and the dependence on dear skilled technicians. These technologies drive the information integration business and respond to these business demands. We'll discuss the business and the technologies.

About the Speaker.

Don Haderle is the Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Data Management and is a member of the IBM Academy. Don was one of the founding architects of DB2. Today, Don drives development of XML, Java, EJBs, and many other initiatives, including personalization and security to enable e-commerce and pervasive computing.
