JOB TITLE: Sr. Manufacturing Test Engineer Carl Zeiss Meditec supplies innovative technologies and application-oriented solutions which enable doctors to improve the quality of life of their patients. The Company offers complete solutions, including implants and consumables, to diagnose and treat ophthalmic diseases. In the field of Neuro/ENT surgery, the Company provides innovative visualization solutions. Carl Zeiss Meditec's medical technology portfolio is rounded off by promising future technologies such as intraoperative radiotherapy. We currently have an exciting position in Dublin, CA for a Sr. Manufacturing Test Engineer JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer will handle the design, fabrication, and support of test equipment and test fixtures in a GMP production environment with emphasis on automation and cycle time reduction. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Analyze complex electrical circuits to develop effective and efficient testing strategies and specifications. Use National Instruments LabVIEW to generate automated tests on standard set of test equipment. Document and validate tests to medical device testing standards. Will work closely with the R&D and Manufacturing departments. Provide software support for web-based manufacturing execution system. Use custom software support for web-based manufacturing execution system. Use custom software to design and configure complex databases. Design and maintain webs forms using Visual Basic. Participate in cost reduction programs in Manufacturing, and continuous improvement of test methods and yields. Propose capital equipment based on sound R.O.I. analysis. Determine optimal test methods and justify the purchase of capital equipment, software and services for development of testing systems. Identify fault coverage gaps and remediate. Manage risk for test equipment failures and test capacity. REQUIREMENTS: BSEE/MSEE or equivalent degree, and five (5) years experience, the last three plus (3+) years in ATE fixture and system design and implementation. Proficiency in LabView with 3 years minimum experience. Thorough and proven understanding of digital and test instrumentation. Proficiency in web services and web-based application design. Proficiency in HTML, Microsoft Visual Studio with 3 years experience, and 3 years experience with Visual Basic. Must have demonstrated the ability to work effectively with third party test houses to deliver integrated solutions. Experience with LEAN manufacturing processes recommended. Must possess strong communication skills and effectively work in a team environment. SAP/MES data mining.
