IEEE, The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers inc., is the world's largest technical professional association.   It contributes to global prosperity by promoting the engineering process of creating, integrating, sharing, and applying knowledge about electrical and information technologies and sciences for the benefit of humanity and the profession.

The Montreal Section has close to 2000 members in the greater Montreal area, Eastern Townships, Laurentians, Abitibi and North of Quebec, all professionals and students in the domains of electrical, electronics and computer engineering. Its officers represent the members towards various IEEE entities, organise local and international events, broadcast news and facilitate members' access to people, advantages, products and services of the organisation.
