The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. (IEEE) is a
not-for-profit, technical professional association of more than 360,000
members in about 175 countries.
The IEEE ended 2003 with:
- more than 361,000 members in 174 countries,
(almost 38 percent of whom are from outside the United States)
- nearly 64,000 student member,
- more than 30,000 society affiliates,
- 304 sections,
- 1,384 chapters,
- more than 1,200 student branches in 80 countries,
- over 300 student branch chapters,
- more than 130 affinity groups,
- societies and 4 technical councils.
