IEEE 2003 Year-end Statistics
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. (IEEE) is a not-for-profit, technical professional association of more than 360,000 members in about 175 countries.

The IEEE ended 2003 with:
  • more than 361,000 members in 174 countries,
    (almost 38 percent of whom are from outside the United States)
  • nearly 64,000 student member,
  • more than 30,000 society affiliates,
  • 304 sections,
  • 1,384 chapters,
  • more than 1,200 student branches in 80 countries,
  • over 300 student branch chapters,
  • more than 130 affinity groups,
  • societies and 4 technical councils.
