| Biography
|
Noreen Calderbank is a Chemical Engineering graduate from the University
of Toronto, Noreen is also a licensed professional engineer. Her
engineering practice at both Atomic Energy of Canada and Ontario Hydro
has been in the field of environmental issues arising from the disposal
of radioactive and other hazardous waste. For three years she was on the
environmental assessment coordination team for the Canadian Nuclear Fuel
Waste Management Program (CNFWMP) dealing with the big question of what
to do with the highly radioactive used fuel.
Since joining Professional Engineers Ontario in 2003, Noreen has created
and taken on the role of Manager, Pre-Licensing Programs. These include
both the Engineering Intern and the Student Membership programs. Her
goal is to create an atmosphere where students and interns understand
and commit to the responsibilities of professionalism within their
practice of engineering and achieve the successes that go along with
this.
