Abstract

Why are most people frightened to speak in front of a group? Because few of us are ever trained for the task. It is a skill, just like golf or tennis. Who would expect you to hit a golf or tennis ball without instruction or practice? Even Tiger Woods has a coach!

Biography

Arlene Cohen's experience offers today's business professional many ways to maximize career potential. Combining her expertise as an advertising copywriter, creative consultant, professional actor and voice over talent, Arlene has established her credentials as a successful public speaking and professional development coach. Through her company, Presenting: Arlene Cohen, she conducts her own branded workshops, courses and seminars. Her private practice and corporate client list include the marketing teams, product managers and executives of A&P, Alcon Canada, American Standard, AMEX, Atomic Energy Canada, Bank of Montreal, Carlson Marketing, Celestica, Crayola (Binny & Smith), CVC Communications Agency, Ernst and Young, Emergis, Foresight Visual Communications, Herbal Magic, IBM, KPMG, Lexus Canada, Maple leaf Foods, Nestle Canada, Price Waterhouse Coopers, SCONA, TD Bank, The Bata Shoe Organization, The Singing DJ, The United Way of Canada, Trapeze Software, Viventia Biotech, Wyeth Canada, Members of Parliament, Municipal Councils and grad students at The Ontario College of Art and Design.

Arlene's advertising career spans 25 years in the US and Canada working for international agencies such as J. W. Thompson, Goodis Goldberg Soren, McLaren McCann, Leo Burnett and her own company, Cohen/Stephens.

Her teaching credentials include George Brown College, and an appointment to teach The Art of Presenting at the Ontario College of Art and Design, starting January 2006. Arlene resides in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
