| Title: Tour to Hydro One Provincial and Great
Toronto Area Transmission System Control Centre and Telecommunication Control Centre Hydro One, one of the successor companies of the former Ontario Hydro, owns approximately 97 percent of Ontario's transmission assets and 44 percent of Ontario's total distribution assets, valued at approximate $6.7 billion and $4.4 billion, respectively. Its control center, TOMC-Transmission Operations Management Centre, operates an integrated 28,400 km transmission line, approximate 270 km of underground cable and 17 interconnection facilities that connect the province with systems in neighbouring provinces and the U.S. states. The telecommunication control center carries on all business relating to the operation of fibre optic telecommunication systems and facilities for Hydro One and its leasing services. Hydro One is presently implementing an operating strategy, which will see the integration of the TOMC, 10 regional control centers and the Distribution Operations Management Centre (DOMC) into one operating centre located in Barrie. |
