The operation of the IEEE Toronto Section is managed by the Section Executive committee, whose members are elected or appointed every two years. On each of these pages, we introduce a member of the committee who volunteers his or her time and energy to deliver the services that the IEEE Toronto Section provides. On your behalf, we recognize their invaluable contributions.

Dimitri Androutsos, SM IEEE - Section Membership Chair

Dimitrios Androutsos received his B.A.Sc., M.A.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Toronto, Canada in 1992, 1994 and 1999, all in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering. His research interests lie in the areas of image & video processing, multimedia archiving & retrieval, distributed multimedia databases, image & video compression, object segmentation, object tracking, image enhancement and image filtering.

Dr. Androutsos is currently an Associate Professor at Ryerson University, Canada, in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering. He is a senior member of the IEEE, an executive committee member of the IEEE Toronto Chapter, an executive board member of Sigma Xi's Toronto Chapter and is also a registered Professional Engineer of Ontario.
