IEEE Toronto Section Executive Committee Biographies
The operation of the IEEE Toronto Section is managed by the Section Executive committee, whose members are elected or appointed every two years. On each of these pages, we introduce a member of the committee who volunteers his or her time and energy to deliver the services that the IEEE Toronto Section provides. On your behalf, we recognize their invaluable contributions.

Khaled Akida - Industry Applications Joint Chapter Chair

Khaled M. Akida, P.Eng., is a Senior Power System Engineer at GE Energy and Services, with 8 years of experience in the electrical manufacturing industry.

Khaled received his B.Sc.E.E. (Power Systems) and M.Sc.E.E. (Process Control) degrees from Ain Shams University And The University of New Brunswick respectively; and he is pursuing an M.B.A. (Management) degree at Laurier School of Business, Waterloo, ON. Khaled worked before at Orbis Engineering, Edmonon, AB and at Schneider Electric, Toronto before joining General Electric in Burlington. He is currently conducting various power system studies, working on substation design and testing microprocessor relays. Khaled is a Registered Professional Engineer in New Brunswick, a Member of both IEEE and IAS since 2005, has various IEEE publications, and is a Technical Reviewer at 11 IEEE journals and conferences in both Power Systems and Control Systems.
