IEEE Toronto Section Executive Committee Biographies
The operation of the IEEE Toronto Section is managed by the Section Executive committee, whose members are elected or appointed every two years. On each of these pages, we introduce a member of the committee who volunteers his or her time and energy to deliver the services that the IEEE Toronto Section provides. On your behalf, we recognize their invaluable contributions.

Benjamin Mak, M IEEE - Chair Engineering in Medicine and Biology Chapter

Mr. Mak obtained his B.A.Sc. in Engineering Science (biomedical-electrical) from the University of Toronto and obtained his LL.B from the University of Western Ontario. He is an associate with the firm of Ridout & Maybee LLP, where he practices intellectual property law. At Ridout & Maybee, Mr. Mak works in assisting hospitals, universities, and technology companies in garnering patent protection for their inventions. Prior to his law career, Mr. Mak performed research at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in medical imaging. He also has interests in communications, photonics, and medical devices.
