IEEE Toronto Section Executive Committee Biographies
The operation of the IEEE Toronto Section is managed by the Section Executive committee, whose members are elected or appointed every two years. On each of these pages, we introduce a member of the committee who volunteers his or her time and energy to deliver the services that the IEEE Toronto Section provides. On your behalf, we recognize their invaluable contributions.

Vasilis Papanikolaou, B.A.Sc, M.A.Sc., P.Eng., SM IEEE - Solid-State Circuits Chapter Vice Chair Industry Liaison

Vasilis received his B.A.Sc. and M.A.Sc. in 1999 from the University of Toronto in Electrical Engineering. Vasilis' research focus for his graduate degree was on an ADC for use in a Software Design Radio.

Vasilis has worked with different process technologies, ranging from the exotic GaAs through to plain vanilla CMOS. His work has primarily focused onhigh speed, Physical Layer products for use in video applications. These products are typically found inbroadcast studios and inHDMI/DVI consumer products.

Vasilis joined Gennum Corporation as an IC designer in 1999. While at Gennum Vasilis has been a strong proponent of industry-academic collaboration, and has worked with different academic institutions. At Gennum he has held various positions from Junior IC designer to Senior Manager, Analog IC Design. Vasilis currently is the Senior Manager, Marketing where he is responsible for the Gennum's Transport Marketing product line.
