Welcome to our Centennial Celebration
Toronto Section Centennial The Toronto Section has the unique distinction of being the first section of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers (AIEE) formed outside the United States - in 1903. Since those early beginnings, the Section has grown and prospered together with our great city of Toronto as electrical engineers have developed and managed electricity to provide the power for its industry and communication for its citizens. To celebrate this special year, we will have three events; (1) at the IEEE Power Engineering Society general meeting in July, (2) our centennial workshop on wireless communications in October, and (3) a special Centennial anniversary event on Saturday October 04, 2003 at the Marriott Bloor Yorkville hotel in conjunction with the IEEE Canada meetings - more

I welcome you to our website, which is designed to be our members' focal point to keep in touch and up to date, and to introduce visitors to our Section and the activities of its members. Our interests are primarily technical, in the diverse fields of things electrical such as electrical power generation and distribution, wired and wireless telecommunications, digital networks and data processing, and the ubiquitous computer. There are many other interests as can be seen by exploring the IEEE Toronto links on the left.

Thank you for visiting, enjoy,
Dr. Robert Hanna, P.Eng.
IEEE Toronto Section Chair
