The chapter has been established in 1993 by Dr. T. Emilie van
Deventer-Perkins who held the chair position till July 1998. The chapter has been active
by organizing technical lectures presented by distinguished speakers from academia,
industry, and research organizations. The meetings provide an open forum for discussion,
as well as a place to network with fellow engineers.
