Current Executive
MANCOM's current Executive
committee consists of the
following: |
|
|
|
Anne Parker, Ph.D.
 |
Anne has been a member of the IEEE since 1986. She is
the current Chair of MANCOM and serves on the Executive committee
for the Winnipeg IEEE Section. Anne works hard at promoting MANCOM
to those with an interest in education, management, and
communication issues.
In August 2004 Anne became a Senior Member
of the IEEE and says it is “an acknowledgement from the IEEE of
individuals demonstrating creativity and accomplishments over the
years.”
Anne received her Ph.D. in English
and has been working as a professor of Technical Communication at
the University of Manitoba since 1982. This innovative program
developed by Anne was one of the first of its kind in Canada. The
technical communication program teaches second and third year
engineering students technical communication skills.

Dave Kemp
 |
Dave Kemp has been actively involved with both the
IEEE and MANCOM. In 1965, Dave served as both founder and inaugural
chair of the IEEE Red River College Branch. He was one of the
founders and original officers of MANCOM when the local chapter was
formed on May 23, 1989.
Dave is currently the Publicity Chair for
MANCOM. Since his involvement in MANCOM, Dave has been involved in
establishing other local IEEE chapters.
From 1998–1999, Dave was the President of IEEE Canada. In 2000 he
was the International Secretary of the IEEE Board of Directors, and
he later helped found the IEEE GOLD program and IEEE Affinity
Groups. Dave is also a Senior Member of IEEE and a Fellow of the
Engineering Institute of Canada.
Dave is a consultant for his own
telecommunications company, Spectri, which specializes in project
management and industrial hearing conservation.

Alexa Campbell
 |
Alexa has been a member of the IEEE since
1988. She is currently a member of the Executive committee, working
with Anne Parker to promote activity and membership within the
organization. Alexa helps with planning and organizing MANCOM events
in Winnipeg.
Alexa works hard to ensure that MANCOM suits the
needs of all its members. She says that “because MANCOM includes
three separate societies, planning events can sometimes be difficult
to suit the needs of all three societies at the same time.” Alexa
has run her own business as a technical communication contractor,
and she has also worked for Great West Life and the Canadian Grain
Commission.
Currently Alexa is the lead
instructor of the Technical Communication Diploma program at Red
River College and is completing her Master’s Degree in Education
from the University of Manitoba.
