Some History
|
The initiative to found an IEEE
Chapter on Information Theory in the Benelux came from Edward C. van der Meulen, who had
also been active in establishing the "Werkgemeenschap
voor Informatie-
en Communicatietheorie" in the early
eighties. The Chapter is active since 1990. Edward served as the
first Chairman of the Chapter. |
Activities
|
Since 1990 the Chapter co-organizes, jointly with
the Werkgemeenschap voor
Informatie- en Communicatietheorie
(WIC), an annual Symposium on Information
Theory in the Benelux and an annual Midwinter-Meeting with tutorial presentations on a hot
topic.
