Welcome

Welcome to the Malta Section of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

A Message from the Chairman

The IEEE Malta Section has joined the rest of the world in celebrating the 125th Anniversary of the IEEE. The event took place on the 10th July at the MCST premises in Kalkara. I take this opportunity to thank our guest of honour, Prof. Carmel Pule’, for accepting our invitation and for delivering such an enlightening and philosophical talk. I would also like to thank MCST and their chairman Dr Ing. Nicholas Sammut for supporting the event and for outlining the funding schemes available for research activities in Malta. I am sure that the attendees have enjoyed the pleasant evening.

I would like to congratulate the new graduates that have just finished their studies this summer. I wish them the best of luck in their further studies or in finding a profitable job. Whichever the career taken, remember that IEEE is your home.

I conclude with the new IEEE positioning statement that is intended to increase public awareness: “IEEE is the world’s largest professional association advancing innovation and technological excellence for the benefit of humanity. IEEE and its members inspire a global community to innovate for a better tomorrow through its highly cited publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational activities. IEEE is the trusted “voice” for engineering, computing, and technology information around the globe”.
