Dear IEEE Members,

I feel very honoured to be asked to head the IEEE Malta Branch for the next two years. I became a student member of the IEEE when I was a student at the University of Toronto in 1975, and after I graduated I retained my membership. So I have been an IEEE Member now for 35 years.

In those days the IEEE was not really known in Malta. However over the years more and more graduates realized that being a member of the IEEE opened up a world of publications, research, researcher networks, conferences, and tutorials and continuing education spanning all electrical engineering from power to software engineering. This is why now the local branch has grown in numbers.

I hope that together we can provide a service to the local members and student members that will be useful and interesting to everyone.
