Celebrating the 125th Anniversary |
On Friday 10th Ju ly, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Malta Section, in collaboration with the Malta Council for Science and Technology, organized a series of talks followed by a reception to mark the 125th Anniversary of IEEE. All the local members were invited for this event, of which a considerable number attended. To commemorate this event two distinguished guests were invited to give speeches: Dr Ing. Nicholas Sammut – Chairperson of the Malta Council of Science and Technology, and Prof. Carmel Pule’ – a distinguished University Professor and Engineer. |

IEEE Region 8 Meeting in Venice |

The 92nd IEEE Region 8 committee meeting took place on the 25 – 26 April 2009 in Venice. This time round the meeting was less focused on reporting, making room for more interactive discussions. This format created the atmosphere for concrete discussions on the future of the Region. The IEEE Malta Section was represented by the Chair, Dr. Ing. Carl James Debono who is also a member of the IEEE Region 8 Strategic Planning sub-committee. |

90th IEEE Region 8 Committee Meeting |
The 90th IEEE Region 8 committee meeting took place in Malta on the 25 - 27th April 2008. Most of the 51 sections within the region were represented for the 2 and a half day intensive meeting. IEEE president Lewis Terman and IEEE present elect John Vig also attending the meeting. |
