Welcome to the IEEE Education Society – Portugal Section Chapter website
Starting officially on the 19th of September 2005, the IEEE Education Society – Portugal Section Chapter the current members of the board are:
Chairman: Carlos Vaz de Carvalho (ISE-IPP)
Secretary: Manuel Gericota (ISE-IPP)
Vice-chairs: Maria Teresa Restivo (FE-U.Porto) e Rui Jorge Lopes (ISCTE)
Past-chair: José Salvado (EST-IPCB)
The main goals of the board team are the promotion and more active enrolment of the IEEE EdSoc members in Portugal. With the action plan we intend:

Collaborate with the IEEE Portugal Section in the creation of Student Branches in every school of Engineering;

Keep the liaison to events and publications of IEEE, namely conferences such as CISTI and FINTDI, TICAI and IEEE-RITA journal;

To promote its own events with education and formation purposes, with a minor dimension but extensive to the Engineering Schools;

To promote the IEEE Teachers In-Service Programme (TISP) and the IEEE Technical English Programme (TEP) in Portugal, in collaboration with the IEEE Educational Activities Board and IEEE Region 8;

Follow up and evaluate the implementation of the Bolonha Process at the Schools of Engineering;

To promote the collaboration with other national and international organizations, within Engineering Education;

To reinforce the presence and impact on the web for the IEEE Education Society – Portugal Section Chapter through other communication channels, namely Youtube and Facebook;

Create a social network for IEEE Ed Soc members to foster and increase the collaboration among them, to disseminate and share experiences and results, and other initiatives and issues.
We hope to get with your confidence and support to apply, with success this action plan. We count with current and future members to improve education in the areas of Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Computers, Informatics (and other related engineering areas and subjects) in Portugal.
