It is with a great pleasure to announce that the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS), Tunisia Chapter is the winner of the 2011 IEEE RAS Chapter Award for providing exceptional leadership and service to members through seminars, workshops, and conference organization. Congratulations!

The award was announced and presented at the IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA), China <link>.

This chapter was initially a joint RAS-SMC Chapter, actually the Chapter stands alone with its RAS Tunisian Members.

The IEEE Tunisia RAS Chapter is established in May 2009. It assembles 1 Senior Member, 4 Members, 11 Graduate Student Members, and 3 Student Members (Statistics by May 2011).

As part of the Robotic and automation society our aim is to promote the activities of the society in Tunisia and to give the maximum of benefits to its members.  

Our main goals are :

  • To encourage researchers to meet and cooperate
  • To increase contributions in the area of robotics and automation
  • To help researchers in order to solve complex and real life problems
  • To help students and graduate students on competition activities
  • To increase exchanges and technologies transfers to Tunisia

 These objectives can be achieved through various activities including seminars, lectures, schools, conferences, competitions, and other events.
