Title:
"An overview of High Altitude Platforms and Terrestrial communication
systems while focusing on resource allocation techniques."

Abstract:
HAPs are designed to provide Broadband Fixed Wireless access services at
high data rates. The design of this system is much more complicated than the
terrestrial cellular communication systems we know. The physical
construction and position of the HAP differs, as it is not a fixed base
station. Resource allocation techniques for HAPs are also a new subject.
Although many people are currently working in this area, there is no
definitive answer on which resource allocation scheme is optimum. In this
seminar the differences and similarities of these two communication systems
will be presented while focusing on the resource allocation techniques of
HAPs. It is a challenge to combine and examine a best-case scenario for the
resource allocation techniques used in HAPs and this is what the
presentation is going to be about.
