PES Home Page
The
Power and Energy Society (PES) is one of the 39 Societies belonging to
IEEE. The scope of the PES is all related areas with systems and
equipment for the generation, transport, distribution and usage of
electric energy.
The Chapter was founded in 15 July 2008 by Engr. Bander Allaf, Saudi Electricity Company – Western Region. He is heading the Chapter from its foundation till now. Originally the Chapter covered the western region of the country. It was named Western Saudi Arabia IEEE PES Chapter and the Chapter belongs to Western Saudi Arabia IEEE Section.
The principal functions of a Society Chapter are to promote activities within the scope of the Society and assist the Society Officers and Committees in the conduct and coordination of Society activities.
The majority of the Chapter’s members are engineers and researchers, though there are lecturers and students. The Chapter is growing and two members hold senior grade. The current number of the Chapter’s members is 22.
