IEEE Region 10 Student/GOLD/WIE Congress 2011

Auckland, New Zealand, July 7- 10, 2011

The IEEE Region 10 Student/GOLD/WIE Congress, or R10SC for short, is ready to be kicked off!

R10SC is a biennial event that in 2011 will be hosted in Auckland, New Zealand, from the 7th of July through until the 10th of July. This exciting event is being organised by the University of Auckland Student Branch, the University of Auckland WIE Group and the Auckland GOLD Affinity Group.

The Congress will provide great opportunities for networking amongst peers from a range of countries across the Asia Pacific Region, as well as presenting a number of distinguished speakers related to our theme of Emerging Technologies.

We are looking forward to seeing a great number of people come to join us in Auckland during July!

Programme

A tentative copy of the programme for the Region 10 Student/GOLD/WIE Congress Auckland 2011 is now available.

It is emphasised that the programme is still in a tentative state, and the Organising Committee is working hard to confirm speakers. Accordingly, the tentative schedule currently on the website can only give a broad overview of intended activities. Nonetheless, this should give potential delegates an idea of what they might expect when they get to Auckland.

The theme of R10SC Auckland 2011 will be emerging technologies.  As well as the usual activities aimed at leadership development, the 2011 R10SC will provide an environment conducive to discussion about technologies that have been very recently introduced or are on the brink of implementation. These technologies are new enough to be exciting and inspiring, but still concrete—not so far into the future that it is an exercise of imagination.

Tentative schedule

The tentative schedule is available. Updates to it will be noted in our news posts.

(This tentative schedule should give a good idea of what activities are anticipated at the IEEE Region 10 Student/GOLD/WIE Congress Auckland 2011. However, it should not be taken as confirmed or final. The Organising Committee reserves the right to modify this programme.)
