CALL FOR SUBMSSIONS TO R10 NEWSLETTER - Closing date 14th March 2010

Dear Council & Section Chairs and Student members,

I am now looking for submissions for the March 2010 issue of the IEEE Region 10 Newsletter and I would like to invite you to send news from your Section, Council or Student Branch.

I will only accept Section and Student Branch's reports about the major activities held in last six months. Normally your submission should be about only one or two events organised recently by the Section or SB with no more than three photographs. Please try to clearly mention the aim and objectives of the event and what was achieved by that event. This will help our readers and other IEEE volunteers to appreciate your ingenuity and understand the benefit of< organising such activities. You can also include a link to your
Section or SB website for a more detail report.

I am also looking for general articles on science and engineering. If you are conducting research in any field of interest to IEEE members, I would strongly urge you to consider writing an article about it. Your article may get you connected with other researchers in that field through R10 Newsletter! Articles based on final year research projects are also welcomed. Please note that the article should be written for general readers and should not be too technical like a journal paper. To avoid the possibility of plagiarism I would like the submitted article to be endorsed by the Head of your engineering school/department or by your local Section Chair.

One major thing missing from the R10 newsletter is humour. People engineering the future so beautifully for the last 125 years can not be that dry! Send me some nice jokes/cartoons about engineering profession and if your submission is exceptionally good you may receive a small reward from R10. I am really looking forward for your help to make the R10 Newsletter interesting and worth reading.

Please send your contributions in MS WORD and digital images in jpeg formats with captions in a MS-WORD document. Please restrict digital photographs to not more than two or three photos in file sizes less than 1 MB. Please send your reports as early as possible because if your report is edited you will have the opportunity to review the edited version before publication. Please remember the closing date< for submitting your articles is Sunday, 14 March 2010.
