Sentosa Island, the most popular Singapore attraction attracts nearly 4 million visitors every year. Formally the Raffles Museum, the National Museum features a fascinating collection featuring the region's diverse cultures and history while the nearby Art Gallery exhibits masterpieces from contemporary Asian artists. Haw Par Villa or the Tiger Balm Gardens a popular theme park of Chinese mythology has now been renamed as 'Dragon World' and features stunning multimedia displays and flume rollercoaster rides. Singapore’s biggest event is the Chinese New Year celebrated in January or February. The celebrations culminate with the Chingay procession featuring traditional colorful characters, dancing and music-making from the Chinese, Malay and Indian communities residing in Singapore.
The Singapore Symphony Orchestra, housed in the uniquely shaped Esplanade complex feature spectacular events regularly while the exciting Chinese operas or Wayangs are also performed in various venues in Singapore. Singapore’s streets and nightlife is an absolute melting pot of activity. The multicultural stores and walkways offer plenty of sights and sounds for the inquisitive traveler. Singapore also has a world-class reputation for excellence in dining with many restaurants and eateries lining its busy streets.
