You are invited to participate in an online meeting with the IEEE Region 3 Area 3
Georgia. This is a quick and painless operation and is a whole lot more fun than
flying cross country! The easiest way to participate is using a program that runs
in your web browser and works through most firewalls. You will however need JavaScript
enabled on your browser. The login window is shown below. If for any reason the login
link is not working, you may go directly to the Region
3 WebIRC Server by clicking here. If this link does not work, there is most likely
a WebIRC server problem.
To leave the session, either close the window or click on the "X" in
the upper right corner of the WebIRC window.
Guidelines
Once the new window shows you in a meeting, there are very few rules but they
must be followed for the meeting to work successfully. The person running
the meeting is the facilitator and will have a mark next to their name on the
right of the screen. You will see them welcome you and ask you to identify
yourself to the group.
You type all responses in the blank across the bottom of the screen. No
one can see anything you type until you press "Enter" on your keyboard.
It is important that you not "speak" out of turn and that you wait until called
upon to "say" something. You raise your hand by entering a "c" (without
the quotes) for a comment or a "q" for a question and pressing Enter; you can
do this at any time, even when someone else has the floor. You will be
called upon by the facilitator when it is your turn.
Once you have the floor, you can enter more than one line of text by ending
a line with "..." (an ellipsis or three periods, again without the quotes). This
tells everyone that you have more to say and they will wait for you to finish. Always
end the last line with a period (or question mark if applicable) to let people
know you are done.

here.
