Update on SoutheastCon '98 - Parveen Wahid



We have received 110 papers in 16 different areas. The review process is

now underway.



We received 12 proposals for tutorials - of this we selected 10. All

tutorials will be held over Friday at the UCF campus. Rooms have been

reserved in the student union for this.



Letter to various exhibitors have been mailed out.



The hardware competition is coming along OK. I think we are a little

behind here but plan to get things speeded up this week.



Need to advertise our web site competition - currently this is being

done.



IEEE USA sent information on their needs! Will try to do our best to

provide what they need. I will coordiante this with either Dale Caston

or Jim Beall.



Sundaram will work with Jim Beall to coordinate Region 3 activities for

the conference.



Will get in touch with Pat Donohoe and Joey to get details of the

student paper contest done.



The registration form is ready - simplified a good deal from previous

ones.

This form, hotel info, info on tutorials and sessions will be mailed out

by the end of next week. registration deadline is March 6 since we have

quite a few overseas papers and interest in attending. This deadline

gives us space to extend (internally) by a few days and enough time for

the proceedings publication.
