Region 3 Excom. Mtg.

The Conference Committee has invited all future Southeastcon Conference Chairs to attend this meeting to discuss the current status of their plans for their Conference.  We also included the immediate past SEC Chair, Parven Wahid, so we could discuss what went right and items she would suggest to make the upcoming SEC's better.

In the near future we will be soliciting bids for the 2002 SEC from the Sections.  The call for bids will be included in the Committee's report in the Region 3 Newsletter at the beginning of next year.  

Southcon/98 is now behind us, and with only 198 booths, was one of the smaller shows Southcon has experienced.  They did however have a fairly good attendance, which should help increase the number of booths for Southcon/99 and beyond.  Southcon/99 will be held in Atlanta and the booth sales for the show are slowly coming in.   Southcon/99 will be held in conjunction with the SMTA (Surface Mount Technology Association) for the first time and the Southcon Board is hoping association will increase the attendance for the show.  

Do you know of other conferences planned for the Region?  Please let the committee know if you do as we would like to advertise them and let the entire Region know when and where to be looking for them.
