These are planning and funding two merit badge booths at the next Boy Scout Jamboree and a General Assembly Liaison program. The work for the Jamboree is continuing, with support from Region 3. The local committee is made up of Ralph Russell, chair, and Andrew Hargrove, treasurer. They have opened an account to prepare for future financial transactions. The General Assembly Liaison program aims to match all 100 members of the VA General Assembly with an IEEE member. The member would be a constituent of the representative. Currently, Sam Harris has been involved in figuring out, geographically, each district (a surprisingly difficult job). He is also using the VA Council SamIEEE program to divide the membership up by district. The task now is to have each section contact members in each of their districts and find someone willing to serve as a liaison to the IEEE. The intent is to provide technical assistance when requested, and possibly to provide input on items that affect IEEE VA members. In addition, all four sections are active and holding meetings, although some are struggling to find officers. The VA Council has completed moving all money into an IEEE Consolidation Account. The VA Council officers rotate up in January and hold office for two years. The new officers are: Chair: Andrew Hargrove Vice-Chair: Cherie Kronimus Secretary: Ed Wheeler Treasurer: Bernie Matta Past-Chair: Val Bodin
