In accordance with our section tradition awards were also made to three outstanding Tampa Bay Area science educators. 2-In December the Admissions and Advancements Committee came to Tampa and enlisted the aid of the FWCS to review IEEE upgrades to senior member applications. A long but very interesting day. 3-In Feb. we celebrated engineers week in style sponsoring six meetings during the month. There was something for everyone from on-line investing with a live demo to a forum on wireless microwave technology with distinguished panelists. As usual an annual highlight was the Engineers Week banquet held in conjunction with 17 engineering societies from the Tampa Bay area where we honored Engineering colleagues and students for their achievements. With pleny of good food and drink and an outstanding speaker from NASA, e-week was a success. 3-Aside from engineers week meetings, our societies have put on many outstanding activities. In Jan., we had meetings on operations at McDill Air Force Base, developments in Microturbines, and Broadband wireless Access Standards. February was busy with e-week (or e-month maybe) activities. In March we held our Awards banquet, a meeting on Wacky Patents, and a USF alumni Panel Session/Forum to help graduating students address questions to panel members about the real world. Look forward to see you all at SECon'99 Regards, Al
