Activities continuing as normal. We are working to establish a computer chapter this year. We are also working closely with the FIT student chapter to get it up and running. The section continues to have problems recruiting volunteers. 2. No speaker in January. Our February speaker was Paul Austin from Harris Corp. He discusses the application of commercial CMOS integrated circuits in traditional RAD Hard environments (mainly space). The speaker was well received with a turnout of 21 members. 3. The March speaker was Tony Awtrey from Awtrey consulting. He gave an excellent presentation on Home Networking. This included a tutorial on basic networking, various options (coax, phone lines, power lines, wireless, etc). He also discussed performance and problems. Extremely well received - attended by 48 members. 4. The section co-sponsored Engineers Week activities with the FIT student chapter and ASME. The week long activities included student project presentations, lab tours and a speaker who gave a presentation on Network Security.
