SECTIONS CONGRESS REPORT

REGION 3 EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
December 3, 1999
Nashville, Tennessee

A total of 53 Region 3 members attended Sections Congress '99 in
Minneapolis.  Thirty-four of the Region 3 sections were represented by
primary delegates.  Region 3 provided thirteen speakers, several of
whom participated in more than one session.  One of the program track
chairs, David Green, was from Region 3.  The IEEE President publicly
commended Region 3 specifically for two projects which can be expanded
Institute wide; Corporate Relations and e-Conferencing.  Thanks to
Bill Harrison and Bill Ratcliff for chairing these two projects and
for reporting on them at the Congress.

Congratulations to all who attended!  Now is the time to put into
practice what you have learned.

Region 3 expenses for SC'99 have been reported by Treasurer Charles
Hickman.

It is time now to start planning for Sections Congress '02 in
Washington, DC.

Thanks to all for your concern and your prayers during my brief stay
in the Hennepin County Medical Center emergency room.  Particular
thanks to Alma and Dale Caston, Reed Thompson, Dave Green, Phil Lim
(Memphis), and to Beverly Green my great appreciation for staying
until I was released and accompanying Doris and me back to the hotel.
All tests since then have been negative which is positive news.
