The Center is only about 2 years old and is adjacent to Lake Hartwell and the 18 hole Walker Course. Conference plans are on track for the given Southeastcon schedule. After careful review of competing bids from the Madren Center in Clemson, SC, the Hyatt in Greenville, SC, and the Hilton in Greenville, SC, the conference committee has decided that the Madren center on the campus of Clemson University will be the official location of Southeastcon 2001. The bids were close, but based on price and the location (on the campus), we felt the Madres Center gave us the most beneficial location. A formalized and detailed report of the expenses and the quotations can be generated if needed. There will be extra rooms available in the local Ramada Inn with ground transportation to the Madren Center at regular intervals. The budget followed by the Piedmont section will very closely follow that of the recent Lexington SECon with only minor variations. If a budget is needed, at this time, the Lexington section's budget may be referenced. My goal for this meeting is to report the state of SeCon '01. We have held informal meetings on organizing the conference over the past few months. All of the meeting notes are posted to the SeCon '01 web page. The web page can be found at: https://www.carol.net/ieee/secon01 An organizational chart has been written up and is available in paper form. I will bring some copies to the meeting in December. I will also provide a soft copy online via the SeCon '01 web page. Respectfully submitted Mark Stokes m.stokes@ieee.org
