Subject: Director-Elect's Report


This year has gotten off to a very fast start both for my work with
IEEE and for my work here at TECO.  As was reported in our Directors
Report, IEEE has many hurdles to overcome during 2000, and the IEEE
Board Meeting coming up on February 10-13 in New Orleans will see many
items discussed and voted on.

Having been asked to serve on the IEEE Regional Conference Committee,
I have accepted this position and look forward to my work with the
committee.  The first meeting of this committee for 2000 will be at
the upcoming Board Series.  Additionally, I will fulfill my
committment to the IEEE Membership Development Committee as Past-Chair
and will be working closely with Mike Garretson, the new Chair of IEEE
Membership Development Committee.  This will include attending the
Membership Development Retreat in New Jersey on February 25-27.
