The EAC is sponsoring the 2001 Memphis Area Engineering and Science Conference (MAESC) to be held at the Christian Brothers University in Memphis on May 11, 2001. The EAC representative attended the first MAESC organizing committee meeting on October 27 in which several actions were decided upon, such as: the theme of the conference, the platform of paper presentations, the length of each session and the number of papers in each session, the papers submission format, and the session topics. The conference website is "https://www.cbu.edu/engineering/maesc". The intention of this conference is to bring professionals, scientists, and engineers, in all disciplines, together to share knowledge, and discuss current issues in science, technology, and engineering.

Other activities involve the revision of the region 3 EAC web site section. New links to recently developed educational material have been added.

Respectfully,
