To: Region 3 EXCOM Fr: David Green, Region 3 Secretary Sb: Secretary's Report Dt: January 15, 2001 The Region 3 meeting information, agendas, and reports received are on-line at https://www.ewh.ieee.org/reg/3/excom/meetings/2001-01/agendas.html I thank EXCOM members who have submitted their reports prior to the meeting according to the guidelines posted on the web. These reports are posted to the web linked with the agenda. This will also serve as the archival mechanism. Also available on the web (linked from the agenda) are the minutes of our past October EXCOM which were distributed after the meeting. The official approval of the minutes are on the consent agenda. The balloting of the Region 3 Committee is complete and the Region Committee approved the slate of candidates for Region 3 Delegate/Director-Elect for 2002-3 as proposed by the EXCOM. The candidates are William (Bill) Harrison of the Atlanta Section and Don Hill of the Lexington Section. These two candidates have been reported to Piscataway per Director Riddle's request. We are continuing to refine our process for setting up information on our meetings, etc. on the web to assist the EXCOM. Please let me know where you think improvements could be made. I was honored to have been nominated (along with Bill Ratcliff and Charles Lord) for the Regional Activities Board's Innovation Award for the Electronic Conferencing effort. This has been a most rewarding project to be associated with and I thank all of the Region 3 leaders for their participation and support. It is this support that brought the project to the level of effort that made it eligible for this award. Congratulations to Region 3 leadership. Committees that wish to store items on the web may either do this through the webmaster or through a dedicated area that the committee controls. Please think through issues of maintenance, skills, and convenience before you decide since it is work to change the approach later. Chip Dawson can inform you as to the tradeoffs between the approaches. Dave -- David G. Green d.green@ieee.org IEEE Region 3 Secretary (98-01)
