From: Charles E. Hickman Subject: Treasurer's Report To: Region 3 Excom Date: Wed, 14 Mar 2001 10:37:42 -0600 TREASURER'S REPORT 14 March 2001 Charles E. Hickman The approved Region 3 budget for 2001 estimates an income of $102,284 and expenditures of $179,750. Major sources of income are the rebate of $66,200 and an IEEE-USA allocation of $14,543 to support professional activities. In planning for Sections Congress 2002, an additional $7,000 was designated this year, bringing the total to $14,000. It is expected that Region 3 will budget $21,000 in 2002 to assist and encourage Section participation in this outstanding event to be held in Washington, DC. The budget includes expenditures of $30,000 for the National Scout Jamboree to be held in Virginia on July 23 - August 1, 2001. It should be noted that the Regional Activities Board deposited $30,000 into our Concentration Account in December 1999 for expenses related to this program. At the end of 2000, total assets for Region 3 were $254,731, which included a balance of $119,828 in the Concentration Account and $128,953 in the Long-term Investment Account. Loans receivable and equipment assets accounted for $5,950. During 2000, the Long-term Investment Account market value declined by $501. A new account, IEEE Region 3 Conference Reserve, has been established with an initial deposit of $50,000 that was distributed to Region 3 from Southcon. The 2001 budget includes funding that will allow us to serve Region 3 members well in a number of areas. Therefore, we are looking forward to another outstanding year of identifying and meeting the needs of our members. If you have questions or require additional information, please contact me.
