The Educational Activity Committee Atef Elsherbeni, Chair October 12, 2001 Preparation for the 2002 Memphis area Engineering and Science conference (MAESC) to be held May 10 has begun. The EAC representative is working with the organizing committee of the conference and is actively participated in soliciting papers, specially those who have more of students participation, the conference theme for this year is "Building Foundations for a Better Tomorrow". Circulation of the lending library material during the last six months was on the very low side. The EAC is in continuous search for up to date educational material to be add to the lending library. However, without seeing an increased request for educational material, the purchasing of new items is on hold. The EAC section of the R3 web site is continuously updated with calls for papers, and other educational links and material. No nominations have been received yet to the next year Employer Professional Development Award, however two nominations are expected from Mississippi and Alabama companies. ...................................
