                              SPC REPORT
                             October 2001


The Strategic Planning Committee (SPC) held their e-conference on 12
October and will meet again on 10/27 in Jamaica.

The Region 3 Strategic Plan for 2002 and beyond was drafted by SPC and
was circulated to the Region 3 ExCom on 2 October for added comments.
(The draft 2002+ plan is now on the Web at
https://www.ewh.ieee.org/reg/3/spc/sp2002.html ).

All ExCom members should review it and share their 2002 goals and
objectives with SPC to assure their adherence to and support of the
2002+ Plan.  We expect to e-mail the latest draft of the 2002+ plan by
20 October to the Reg 3 ExCom.

The 2001 SPC Mentors assigned to Reg. 3 Committees are as follows:

Please include the mentors in your committee meetings and in your
comments re the 2002+ Strategic Plan.  All the mentors have many years
of experience and can be a real asset to your committees.

By 12-31-2001 SPC expects the updating of the Region 3 History,
ByLaws, and Operations Manual to be completed.
