Milestones Achieved 2001:

The Communications Committee has been primarily focused on
Region 3 operations and activities during the past year with
notable progress being made in the following areas:
* Continued updating the Region 3 Web Pages
* Continued distribution of the R3 Communications CD by the
  Public Information Committee
* The e-Conference Committee continues to provide introductory
  and startup training for various entities throughout the
  Institute.
* Submitted changes to the R3 Op Manual to reflect the
  organization and working relationships of the Communications
  Committee.
* Testing various collaborative work methods including Twiki
  https://twiki.org/

The proposed changes to the Region 3 Operations Manual were
envisioned to create a working relationship that combines
individual creativity / initiative with collaborative
/coordinated operation. This working environment can also
serve as a test bed for Region 3 to try other organizational
techniques.

We would like to hear from you concerning areas that we could
have helped your committee do better.

Development of Objectives 2002:

This is a general call for your input into the Communications
Committee Planning for 2002. How can the Communications Committee
assist your committee?

We will then develop a dialog to define the details, roles
and responsibilities.

The Communications Committee cannot perform or operate effectively
unless you are part of the process.

Send your requests, suggestions, comments to w.ratcliff@ieee.org The
committee will be finalizing the plans for 2002 including the
objectives at the ExCom Meeting in Atlanta, 1/19/2002. We will also be
using the NewsGroups in the interim.
