Region 3 Director-Elect Report
January 15, 2002

My term as 2002-03 Director/Delegate Elect started with attendance at
the IEEE Board of Directors meeting November 15-19, 2001.  I attended
the Regional Activities Board meetings and began to get familiar with
RAB's committee structure and operations.  I also had an opportunity to
attend the new directors session and learn about the organization and
operation of the IEEE Board and its committees.

I attended a meeting of the Central Savannah River Section in Augusta in
December.  Thanks to the efforts of David Mills and other local
volunteers, that section appears to be making a strong comeback after a
period of uncertainty about its future viability.

Besides working with Region 3's Section/Chapter Support, I expect to be
involved with the RAB Industry Relations Committee, and possibly with
RAB's Section/Chapter Support.  I plan to continue to support and
promote IEEE Corporate Relations within Region 3 as well  as at the
Institute level.

Advance thanks for Region 3 ExCom members' input, recommendations and
support as I serve in the Director-Elect job for the next two years.
