PACE Report 2001 Accomplishments: 1.  Conducted PACE training for 22 volunteers at Clemson, SC, 30-31 March 2001, including a separate module on "How to Make Meetings Work".  Supplied attendees with the book of the same name, with a copy of the Professional Development Conference book, 2000, and with a CD-ROM containing PACE and electronic conferencing information (courtesy of Lee Stogner and Charles Lord/Bill Ratcliff).  Program included organization of IEEE-USA, policy overview, a briefing by the IEEE treasurer, another on the corporate relations program, and a third on the Financial Advantage program. 2.  Provided a writeup for the Region 3 newsletter. 3.  Attended the PACE workshop in Tampa and two PACE committee meetings (Albuquerque and Washington, DC). 4.  Gave a program on PACE and retirement planning to both the Daytona and Orlando sections. 5.  Identified software to use for voice-overs on PowerPoint presentations when posted on the web, thus enhancing the information transfer and making the posted version closer to the in-person presentation. 6. Developed a presentation on engineering ethics; given by invitation to the Florida West Coast section. 7.  Submitted a program proposal to the Sections Congress program committee for a PACE-related topic. 8.  Listed several program topics for presentation at S-PACS and M-PACS. 9.  Provided several PowerPoint presentations for posting at the PACE Committee website. 2002 Plan and Objectives 1.  Update syllabus and present PACE volunteer training at Columbia, SC, April 5-6, 2002.  [Financial Advantage program already committed to support it.] 2.  Acquire "Hot Foot" software to use for voice-overs on PowerPoint presentations for posting at web sites. 3.  Support IEEE-USA PACE Committee activities. 4.  Update topic list for which section programs can be arranged, by invitation. 5.  Follow up on Sections Congress program proposal, previously submitted. 6.  Promote the Platinum Database concept with a brochure to be distributed at Southeastcon, targeted toward life members with the time and interest to aid students and/or younger engineers. 7.  Offer a program topic for life member chapters (in being or forming) on opportunities in volunteerism. 8.  Provide PACE writeups for the Region 3 Newsletter.  Offer list of PACE topics for section programs. 9.  Start conversion of 'silent' PowerPoint presentations previously developed, on PACE topics, to voice-over presentations using the Hot Foot software.
