Report SoutheastCon Support Committee (ad-hoc) Charles Lord, Chair The SoutheastCon Support Committee was formed in 2001 as a subcommittee of the R3 Conferences Committee as an operating group to provide services to the current SoutheastCon operating committees as needed. At Director Howard's request, I have agreed to serve in the capacity of Chair of this committee at least through the 2002 conference in Columbia. In this capacity, I report to the Chair of the Conferences Committee (Don Hill) and the Chair of the SoutheastCon 2002 Committee (Nancy Gunderson). At the request of the 2002 SoutheastCon committee, we are providing registration services for the 2002 conference. This consists of the maintenance of all registration forms that are published on the web and paper, the receipt and processing of those forms, reporting of registration statistics to the conference, and all on-site registration duties including badging. Tasks accomplished: We have provided a registration form in both paper (Word) and web form We have server space reserved on a server that provides SSL (secure) connections for on-line credit card transactions. One benefit of this is that we have applied for registration of the www.southeastcon.org and www.southeastcon.com domain names - a long-term goal of the conferences committee. Equipment has been ordered to provide the on-site registration capability at Columbia. Most of the equipment is being donated to us, keeping costs down. Badge and ticket (meal, reception, tour, etc) supplies have been ordered. Tasks remaining: Receive and process any and all mail and fax registrations: none have been received yet. A merchant account is being applied for to allow us to directly charge credit cards to the conference Concentration Banking Account (CBA). This is on hold pending Region 3 approval. Create and post an on-line registration form including credit card processing. This is on hold pending the creation of the merchant account.
