Region 3 Director's Report
March 27, 2002

On January 19, 2002 the Region held its first Executive Committee
meeting of the year.  During that meeting the various committees
discussed their goals for the year.  Since that time the Region
Committees have been working on their various projects and goals and
are looking forward to our next meeting, which will be in conjunction
with the Annual SoutheastCon Regional meeting on April 5-7, 2002.  We
hope to have a Section Representative from each and every Section in
the Region at SoutheastCon to provide feedback to the various
committees and to share their views and knowledge on what works and
what does not.

On the Regions behalf,  I have attended the following meetings:
- IEEE Board of Directors Meeting, Tempe, AZ, February 13-17, 2002
- IEEE Engineering Management Governing Board Dinner, Orlando, FL,
  February 26, 2002
- IEEE Region 9 Meeting with Miami Section, Miami, FL, March 3, 2002

Additionally, I have been asked, and am serving on the following IEEE
Committees:
- IEEE Audit Committee
- IEEE Business Rules Simplification Ad Hoc Committee
- IEEE Regional Activities Strategic Planning Committee

I look forward to seeing all of you at the upcoming SoutheastCon
meeting.
