To: Region 3 Committee / Executive Committee From: J. Patrick Donohoe, Region 3 Educational Activities Chair Subject: Educational Activities Committee Report Date: 26 March 2002 I am pleased to announce that Dr. Mark Tew at the University of Mississippi has agreed to serve as Region 3 Educational Activities Vice Chair for 2002-03. Part of Mark's responsibilities will be to administer the Region 3 Lending Library. You can find an online listing of the materials in the Region 3 Lending Library which are currently available for loan at https://ewh.ieee.org/reg/3/eac/lending-library.html This material is available for loan to individual IEEE members, Sections or other IEEE groups in Region 3. Contact Mark directly at eemdt@olemiss.edu if you are interested in utilizing material in the Lending Library. More than likely, the first thing that you will notice while perusing the Region 3 Lending Library is the need to update the material in the library. This is one of the priorities of the Region 3 Educational Activities Committee. Once the Lending Library has been updated, we will send out information to the Region 3 Sections. Given that many IEEE members in Region 3 are Professional Engineers in states that require yearly Professional Development Hours (PDH's) for continued registration, the Region 3 Educational Activities Committee will focus on material which should be useful for this purpose. The Region 3 Educational Activities Committee has selected an award recipient for the 2001 IEEE Region 3 Employer Professional Development Award. Once the Region 3 Executive Committee has approved this award, we will announce the winner.
