Florida Council Report

The sections in the State of Florida are very active.  Over the last
couple of months sections in the state held dozens of meetings ranging
from technical seminars to social events.  All sections are planning
on sending a representative to Section's Congress.  We will be having
another meeting later this year and are planning to have our first
meeting for 2003 at SouthCon in Tampa, FL.  We will also be holding a
meeting at SoutheastCon 2003.

One of the projects we are working on is the ability of section chairs
to vote via a secure web site for the various IEEE awards.  We will
pilot a project later this month to demonstrate how this system would
operate.  All sections are encouraged to use the FC web site to post
meeting notices so that members within the state are able to view and
attend any event state wide.
