Subject: Tennessee Council

The Tennessee Council held its election in late November 2002. The TN
Council Election Election was chaired by Brian Swail. The election
process was completed in January 2003. IEEE Headquarters and Region 3
were notified of results. The new officers are:


Philip Lim, TN Council Chair

He is a member of the Memphis Section, and past Secretary/Treasurer of
the TN Council


Tim Bigelow, TN Council Vice Chair

He is a member of the East TN Section


Joe Legate, TN Council Secretary/Treasurer

He is a member of the Central TN Section


The financial report for the Tennessee Council was completed last year
by then TN Council Secretary/Treasurer and forwarded to then TN
Council Chair (David Bower), who signed it and sent it to IEEE
Headquarters.


Tennessee Council Chair Philip Lim has designated TN Council Vice
Chair Tim Bigelow as the representative for the TN Council to attend
the Region 3 meeting in April in Jamaica.


There are five sections in the Tennessee Council:


1. Tri-Cities Tennessee Section (upper northeast TN)
2. East Tennessee Section (Knoxville area, middle east TN) (the Oak
   Ridge, TN Section and East TN Section are now combined as the East
   Tennessee Section)
3. Chattanooga Tennessee Section (located lower southeast TN)
4. Central Tennessee Section (located in middle TN) (the Nashville
   Section and Middle Tennessee Section are now combined as the
   Central TN Section)
5. Memphis Section (located in west TN)
