Subject: Area 8 Report to Region 3 ExCom; July 2003

The following is the July, 2003 report on the Area 8 Chair's Goals for 2003:

      1.    Establish more frequent and consistent communication with the three sections in Area 8. 

        I have made progress in this area, but more effort is needed on my part.  I now receive copies of section meeting announcements and other correspondence by email.  This helps me to stay informed and enables me to share ideas between sections. 

      2.    Make sure all sections have their reports in on time

(Meetings, Officers and Financial) 

This goal was accomplished for 2003.  

      3.    Make contact with all section chairs within Area 8 at

least four times this year.

This objective remains to be completed.

      4.    Ensure that all sections are aware of, and encourage them to

send a representative to SoutheastCon. 

This objective was technically accomplished. Sections were made aware of, and encouraged to send representatives to Southeastcon 2003.  However, only two of the three sections in Area 8 were actually represented there.
