IEEE Region 3 Conference Committee Mid-Year Report

Region 3 Conference Committee 2003 Goals

- Develop Region 3 training program specifically for conference
  treasurers.
Action: We have reviewed a few conference treasurer duty lists and
will continue to find/create a better list.

- Provide assistance to Southeastcon 2003 conference committee.
Action: We assisted the SEC03 committee through the conference and are
now encouraging and guiding the closing of the conference.


- Review and improve horizontal conferences in Region 3.
Action: Needs more attention. 

- Consider possible new areas, sites, and CEU credits for tutorials.
Action: Needs more attention. 

- Review and improve vertical conferences in Region 3. 
Action: Some work, but needs more attention.

- Provide Sections information on how to formally solicit Technical
  Society Conferences.
Action: Needs more attention.

- Examine professional management for conferences. 
Action: Will give further consideration.

- Seek bidders for SEC05, SEC06.
Action: We have booked SEC05 and SEC06.  We have interested bidders
for future SEC's.
