SoutheastCon 2006


The meeting will be March 30 -- April 2, 2006 in Memphis.

We have selected the conference hotel, the Memphis Marriott.  This is
not the downtown location, but one east of the airport.

We have submitted a draft contract to the hotel (which surprised
them), and are awaiting a response.  The verbal one indicated
everything was OK.

We are staffing up the conference committee.

We are evaluating off-site events to see if one fits into our budget.

We applied for IEEE insurance.

We have not "registered" with IEEE yet because I had questions about
some of the blanks on the form.  IEEE has not called me back yet.

We continue to fret about the validity of financial/attendance data
from past conferences, but I'm trying to get the final reports.

We remain excited and look forward to hosting a great conference, with
Region 3's advice and support!
