(6) Plans to assist IEEE Computer Society with 2003 IEEE International Conference on Data Mining 19-22 November in Melbourne, FL. (7) Local (Melbourne-Canaveral) IEEE Consultants Network Affinity Group is getting started. (8) Participation/nomination of candidates for Florida Council and Region 3 awards (in progress) (9) December social and end-of-year meeting Major Goals: (1) Migrate to electronic means of communication as much as possible, to reduce demands upon volunteers and hopefully yield more timely delivery. (2) Continue to assist unemployed members where possible. Efforts providing opportunities to meet engineers in other disciplines over last three years have been very successful. (3) Return to efforts to see members upgraded to highest grade for which they qualify. (These took a backseat to basic employment efforts this year.) (4) Continue to influence activities in the Canaveral Council of Technical Societies (CCTS) by having members involved. (5) Continue to be involved in PAOC activities, including Congressional Visit Day next year. (6) Budget for assisting Sections Congress 2005, including sending more than one section representative. Discussion Item for Upcoming Meeting: Experiencing a challenge to fund section activities via web-based purchases without using officer's personal credit cards.
